Background
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (‘The Board’’) was established in 2016 under the Lotteries and Gaming Act Cap 334 with a mandate to supervise and regulate the establishment, management and operations of the lotteries, gaming, betting and casinos in Uganda, and to protect the citizens from the adverse effects of gaming and betting in Uganda.
Our Vision is “A well-regulated, technology-driven and responsible gaming industry that optimizes revenue generation while contributing to sustainable socio-economic development”
The Board invites Online applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill a vacant position that exists within the Board’s structure as listed below,
Job Purpose
To provide technical support and guidance in enforcing against illegal and non-compliant activities in the gaming sector.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Carry out surveillance of any malpractices in the sector and generate reports in line with existing legal framework.
- Receive/gather and analyse information of illegal and non-compliant operators in the sector.
- Carry out routine and adhoc enforcement against illegal and non-compliant operators.
- Identify post-enforcement issues that require follow up.
- Issue of corrective orders for any gaps identified.
- Liaise with police to confiscate illegal gaming equipment in line with existing legal framework, LGRB policies and procedures.
- Prepare periodic enforcement reports indicating status of operator compliance as a result of enforcement actions.
- Follow up to ensure enforcement recommendations are implemented.
- Identify and report compliance risks.
- Identify and report matters that require review of the regulatory framework/standards.
- Conduct research on matters impacting the Boards mandate and make reports to the supervisor.

- A Bachelor’s degree in either Law, Development Studies , Social Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering and Computer Engineering, Information Security, Business Computing, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Science (with focus on Computer Science, Mathematics) from a recognized university.
