LWI UGANDA PROGRAM
LWI Uganda is an affiliate of Living Water International a Christian International NGO with its Headquarters in Houston USA. In Uganda, LWI runs an integrated WASH program in Southwestern and Eastern Uganda. LWI Uganda has been operating in Uganda since 2009 providing safe clean water, Church and Community Mobilization, Sanitation and Hygiene services to communities and building capacity of communities in operation & maintenance of wells for sustainability. LWI Uganda is looking for a passionate, experienced, engaged, and competent Ugandan to fill the position of Finance Assistant.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision, assist the Senior Finance Officer in performing accounting and financial tasks. These include monitoring the flow of all the cash transactions, ensuring their proper entry, verifying the accuracy of financial records, assisting in report generation, and recommending policies for improving the financial procedures and policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical training with specialization in accounting, budgeting or finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of directly job-related experience.
BUSINESS COMPETENCIES & GENERAL SKILLS
- Mathematical and accounting acuity
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
- Knowledgeable in basic accounting/bookkeeping practices and processes
- Computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Suite (mainly Excel) and other accounting and data input software e.g. QBs
- Excellent communicator, both spoken and written
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Thrives working both independently (a self-starter) and collaboratively
- Dependable, respectful and consistently works to uphold company ethics and standards
- Ability in reading and writing English;
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Assist with financial data entry and general bookkeeping
- Manage data, records, and reports by checking for errors and verifying accuracy of information
- Prepare receipts, vouchers, invoices, etc. for entry into data sheets
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports
- Assist in creating and settling budgets
- Update and maintain financial records
- Prepare spreadsheets for data entry, including budgets, accounting information, etc.
- Take instructions from and report to Finance Manager
- Independently prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities
- Assist with audits as necessary
- Adhere to current accounting/finance laws and regulations
- Work to Living Water International’s standards
- Other duties related to finance/administration as assigned.
