Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Floor Manager to lead our front-of-house team and ensure the smooth operation of our dining room. You are responsible for upholding our standards of service, managing staff, and resolving issues to guarantee an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is a natural leader, an excellent problem-solver, and has a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience:
- Oversee all aspects of service during shifts, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Greet guests, check on their satisfaction, and handle any complaints or issues promptly and diplomatically.
- Manage reservations and seating flow to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, support, and motivate all front-of-house staff (servers, hosts, bussers).
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, specials, and service goals.
- Assist in training new hires and providing ongoing coaching to existing staff.
- Manage shift schedules and delegate tasks effectively.
Operations:
- Open and/or close the restaurant, handling cash drops and reconciling sales reports.
- Ensure the dining room, host stand, and service areas are clean, stocked, and well-organized.
- Monitor inventory of front-of-house supplies and place orders as needed.
- Enforce all company policies, safety protocols, and health department regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a restaurant supervisory or management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of restaurant operations, fine dining service standards, and POS systems.
- Valid food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) is a plus.
- Proven experience in conflict resolution and customer service recovery.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership: Ability to inspire, direct, and hold a team accountable.
- Problem-Solving: Calm and effective under pressure.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of sales reports, labor costs, and inventory management.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with both guests and staff.
- Organization: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask.
