Job Summary: The Forklift Driver is responsible operating forklifts to transport raw materials, components, and finished products within the company. This role supports production efficiency by ensuring timely and safe material handling between warehouses, production lines, and loading bays, while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials to and from production areas, warehouses, and storage locations.
- Supply production lines with raw materials and remove finished goods efficiently to avoid delays in manufacturing.
- Load and unload trucks with raw materials, packaging, or finished goods.
- Accurately scan, label, and document incoming and outgoing materials using inventory systems.
- Perform daily safety checks on forklifts and report any malfunctions or maintenance issues.
- Maintain clean and organized storage and loading areas to ensure operational efficiency.
- Follow safety guidelines and manufacturing protocols to minimize risks of damage or injury.
- Assist with stock counts, inventory checks, and material reconciliations.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, and warehouse teams to meet daily operational goals.
- Handle materials in a way that prevents contamination or damage, especially when handling sensitive or hazardous items.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent in relevant field.
- Valid forklift operator certification/license.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a forklift role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and safety standards.
- Proficient in operating sit-down, stand-up, or counterbalance forklifts.
- Good understanding of warehouse and material flow in a manufacturing setup.
- Ability to read and interpret production work orders and delivery documents.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and ability to identify potential hazards.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced setting.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills.
