Your Mission

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Impact and Learning Associate to support the implementation of SHONA’s Impact and Learning strategy, system, tools and processes.

Your role will be to support our team in data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to drive evidence-based decision-making, promote continuous learning across projects and teams, and contribute to effective communication of results to internal and external stakeholders.

We have built a lot of experience in working with entrepreneurs, supporting them to grow their businesses. Our goal is to be the program implementation partner of choice for enterprise development projects and programs in Uganda. You and this role will play a key role in ensuring this.

Key Responsibilities

Impact Strategy Implementation

  • Support the refinement of the impact and Learning Strategy in alignment with SHONA’s ambition, goals and objectives.
  • Develop and establish systems and processes for data collection, analysis, learning, sharing and reporting.

Impact Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting.

  • Support the implementation of Impact and learning systems, tools, and processes, including data collection, and data quality assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support data analysis using relevant software and tools, contributing insights that inform program adjustments and strategic decisions.
  • Conduct basic research and literature reviews to support the development of impact strategies and evaluation frameworks.
  • Monitor project progress against key indicators, flagging issues for escalation and assisting in problem-solving efforts.

Learning and Knowledge Sharing

  • Contribute to knowledge management initiatives by documenting lessons learned, best practices, and case studies from projects and initiatives.
  • Support in stakeholder communication by drafting updates, presentations, and impact stories that highlight program outcomes and achievements.

Collaboration and Capacity Building

  • Collaborate with teams to integrate Impact and Learning practices into their workflows.
  • Provide training and support to staff on Impact and Learning processes and tools.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, or data-related roles, ideally in business support, development programs, or with SMEs.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, or Power BI).
  • Experience assisting in report preparation, including data visualization and more.
  • Experience in knowledge management and organizational learning.
