MONITORING AND EVALUATION ASSISTANT (M&E) at Adra Uganda
Job Purpose
The M&E Assistant will support the RISE project team in planning, implementation, and tracking of monitoring and evaluation activities. They will ensure timely and accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of data to inform decision-making, measure progress, and ensure accountability to beneficiaries and donors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Management
- Support the development and implementation of M&E tools and frameworks.
- Conduct regular field visits to collect quantitative and qualitative data from project activities.
- Enter, clean, and store data accurately in the database and other data management systems.
- Ensure all data collected is disaggregated by sex, age, and other relevant variables.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports with verified data and success stories.
- Document and share key lessons learned, challenges, and best practices with the project team.
- Assist in preparing indicator tracking tables (ITTs), dashboards, and evaluation summaries.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assist in tracking progress towards project targets and results indicators.
- Participate in baseline surveys, mid-term reviews, and end-line evaluations.
- Monitor project inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impacts in line with the Logical Framework.
- Accountability and Learning
- Participate in community feedback and complaints handling systems.
- Support learning and reflection meetings for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that the project integrates feedback mechanisms from beneficiaries.
- Capacity Building
- Provide technical support to project staff and community structures (e.g., ToTs, VSLAs, farmer groups) on data collection and usage.
- Train field teams and community volunteers on M&E tools and practices as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in M&E work with an NGO or development agency, preferably in refugee or emergency settings.
- Knowledge of M&E methodologies including Logical Frameworks, Theory of Change, and Results-Based Management.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Fluent in English and at least one local language spoken in Kyaka II (e.g., Runyakitara, Swahili, Kinyabwisha).

- Team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
