CHINT Uganda is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving efficient accounting processes. This is a hands-on position requiring proficiency in Tally ERP (experience with other accounting software is also welcome), a solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS, and strong supervisory capabilities. You will report directly to the Manager – Accounting & Tax Compliance and work closely with cross-functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Team Supervision. Lead and support the Accounts Assistants; review and approve transactions before posting.

Month-End Close. Manage timely and accurate month-end closing, including accruals, provisions, and journal entries.

Ledger Reconciliations. Perform and review reconciliations of key general ledger accounts (e.g., payables, receivables, inventory).

Bank Reconciliations. Ensure accurate monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Management Reporting. Prepare and present monthly management accounts with variance analysis and actionable insights.

Accounts Payable. Oversee supplier invoice tracking, documentation, and timely payment processing.

Inventory Accounting. Reconcile physical inventory with system records and ensure ledger alignment.

Audit Support. Facilitate year-end external audits and URA tax audits, including preparation of reconciliations and documentation.

Other Duties. Perform any additional finance-related tasks assigned by the line manager. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (completed or near completion).

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior accounting position

Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP (preferred) or other accounting software

• Experience in manufacturing sectors is an added advantage.

• Solid understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and financial reporting principles.
