Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),
A qualified medical officer (MBChB) with a current practicing license and at least 2 years’ working experience in a busy health institution. Previous work experience in HIV prevention clinical research would be a strong advantage. The desired person must be able and willing to work as part of a team and possess strong written and oral communication skills. The desired person would also possess a passion for MU-JHU’s mission and an interest in developing experience and a possible career in clinical research.
Responsibilities or duties,
Maintain GCP and HSP certification
Collection and proper documentation of participant information
Maintain knowledge of the currently approved study protocol(s)
Evaluate and manage study participants
Provide medical care to study participants
Identify and report adverse events in a timely manner
Participate in field engagement activities
Perform ward rounds if needed
Participate in developing and generating study documents e.g. source documents, study specific standard operating procedures, consent forms, etc.
Participate in chart reviews and query resolution
Participate in protocol trainings and team meetings
Take medical histories and conduct patient consultations
Performing physical exams
Prescribing medication and providing health education.
Supervise other health staff
Ensure quality clinical services
Maintain records
Handle administrative tasks like staff scheduling and managing some supplies.
Participate in any other duties reasonably assigned.
