- Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure disciplined use of farm tools.
3. Resource & Input Control
- Manage the inventory of seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals; ensure zero wastage and full accountability.
- Oversee the deployment and basic maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
4. Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor crop health daily and report pest, disease, or weather-related risks immediately.
- Maintain precise daily and weekly operational logs.
- Support data collection regarding input usage and final yields for end-of-season analysis.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, Agribusiness, or a related field (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in large-scale agricultural operations, specifically with cereals (Maize, Soya, etc.).
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing large field teams (100+ laborers) in a high-pressure environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of mechanized farming and crop protection. Basic proficiency in MS Excel for reporting is an advantage.
Personal Attributes
- Resilience: Ability to work extended hours during peak planting and harvesting windows.
- Integrity: High level of accountability in managing high-value farm inputs.
