John Snow, Incorporated (JSI) is recruiting for several positions for their five-year USAID-funded U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative Uganda Malaria Reduction Activity (PUMRA). PUMRA aims to improve the survival and well-being of Uganda’s most vulnerable pregnant women and children in selected regions. The Activity will work with the Government of Uganda to improve technical, managerial, financial, and leadership capacity at all levels of the health system.

Job Summary
The Regional Program Coordinator - West Nile Office is a full-time position based in Arua. They will be responsible for the successful implementation of PUMRA activities in the West Nile region in line with the approved project design, budget and timeframe, and in compliance with USAID requirements. They will have overall responsibility for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of all PUMRA activities. They will report to the Director of Community Resilience and Development and will supervise all staff in the Arua office.
Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day office operations;
• Provide overall technical and program management support to project staff in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of PUMRA activities and ensure implementation is in compliance with USAID guidelines and procedures;
• Monitor programmatic and technical performance of PUMRA to ensure progress towards meeting set project goals, objectives and technical deliverables on time and with a high standard of quality;
• Build and manage comprehensive networks and a collaborative relationship with all stakeholders in the region to advance PUMRA goals and objectives;
• Supervise and mentor regional staff;
• Participate in pre-award assessments, development and management of sub-agreements to ensure that issues are identified and addressed through appropriate follow-up action and support;
• Provide guidance to the sub- partners in programmatic and contractual areas; and
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Director of Community Resilience and Development.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in public health, business administration, or a related field OR commensurate experience in a senior level position within the Ugandan health system;
• Minimum 7 years’ technical experience in malaria programming;
• Excellent organizational skills and time management;
• Proven stakeholder management;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
• Willingness to travel.
