Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a motivated Retail Manager to join their distribution team. This role involves safely transporting goods while actively engaging with retailers, wholesalers, and other customers to drive sales and expand their market reach. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, excellent customer service, and a keen understanding of distribution operations.
Job Description
- Accountable for the growth and profitability of their regions.
- Improves revenues and return on investment and creates an environment that exceeds client expectations.
- Coordinates and supports the team effort in referring leads to offices and other lines of business.
- Overall responsibility for the sales growth and operational performance of their KPI in their respective regions.
- Responsible for participation in interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action for the staff within their assigned branches.
- Manages the performance and development of employees within the regions which results in high performance, a team environment and positive employee morale.
- Develops market intelligence, communicates and drives the strategic direction and product mix within the market through supporting the DSRs to achieve targets
- Manages and enhances client relationships through coaching and mentoring DSRs.
- Managing existing customers and recruitment of new customers.
- Builds new and expands existing customer relationships through a consultative approach that requires visiting customers in order to understand their business needs with an expected outcome of growing the deposit base of the branches, increasing product utilization and revenue within the market.
- Ensures of primary targets by pushing secondary sales together with DSRs in the market and defined market area retail offices comply with all appropriate regulatory
- Responsible for sales among other KPIs that support our sales as scheduled on daily weekly monthly quarterly annually plans.
- Responsible for development of retail and wholesale lines to ensure the product gets to final consumers.
- Ensure system discounts are passed both to wholesale and retail outlets as a way of improving sales growth and target achievements.
- Responsible for heading staff meetings and accountable for target achievements
- Daily weekly and monthly reporting about the business to the sales manager
- Manage the rates which relate to retail operations and new accounts.
- Ensures staff complies with all policies, practices and procedures including branch safety and reports all unsafe activities to the Sales Manager and/or Human Resources Management.
- Manages the escalation of customer service problems and/or requests as appropriate, proactively seeks answers and/or provides solutions and follows-up to ensure customer needs have been met.
- Directs a proactive approach to customer satisfaction and customer retention.
- Listens to and fully understands, the internal and external customer’s needs. Interacts in an effective and positive manner with customers and co-workers.
- Maintains knowledge and compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.
- Any other duties that might be assigned from time to time.
Required Skills:
- Bachelors in sales and marketing or an equivalent
- 2-3 years of working experience in the same field or role
- Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate and follow up on assignments.
- Ability to manage multiple branches and remote staff.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to present a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust and convey knowledge to the customer and resolve complex customer issues.
- An enthusiastic individual who can listen to customer concerns and offer a unique and innovative solutions, weighing customer satisfaction
- Proficient computer skills.
- Must be self-driven with a positive outlook and can demonstrate confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with customers.
