On behalf of our client in the manufacturing industry, we are looking for competent, skilled and experienced Head Technician to work in Uganda.
Job Purpose:
The Head Technician will lead a team of technicians, ensuring timely and effective product servicing and repairs. This role requires strong technical expertise in electronics and home appliances, leadership skills, and the ability to implement best practices in service management. The ideal candidate will ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery while optimizing technical operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical Service Operations.
- Oversee and manage all product repair and maintenance services.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in electronics and home appliances.
- Ensure timely and efficient completion of all service requests.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and service excellence.
- Leadership & Team Management.
- Supervise and train a team of technicians, ensuring continuous skill development.
- Assign and monitor workloads to ensure efficiency in service delivery.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to technicians.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Customer Support & Problem Resolution.
- Work closely with the after-sales team to resolve technical complaints effectively.
- Provide expert guidance to customers on product usage and maintenance.
- Ensure professional communication with customers regarding service timelines and expectations.
- Inventory & Spare Parts Management.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of necessary components.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source high-quality spare parts at competitive prices.
- Implement efficient stock control measures to minimize wastage and delays.
- Reporting & Process Improvement.
- Maintain detailed service records and generate reports on common technical issues.
- Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to product designs.
- Implement strategies to enhance repair turnaround times and service quality.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in technical servicing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronics and home appliances.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and service software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, quality control standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines
