The main responsibility of the position holder’s Compliance
• Adhere at all times to the values and principles of the Company Code of Conduct.
• Be conversant/comply with Uganda Legislation, Company Rules, Procedures, and Instructions; ensure full compliance with SOX standards with respect to system security and reporting. HSE
• Promote HSE Culture (including Lifting Safety Companies) to prevent and reduce lifting incidents.
• Participate in the Lifting High Potential incidents analysis and ensure actions plans are implemented.
• Participate in Lifting Accident and Incident investigations as required (origin, cause tree analysis, corrective action deployment); • Contributes into return of experience governing and prepares Safety Feedback Notices when required. • Follow-up Lifting register and KPIs system in the company. Operations
• Contribute into application of company rule CR EP LSO 043, CR GR HSE 420 and Lifting Management System (LMS) at Site level.
• Provides operational Site level technical support for the lifting operations and equipment.
• Able to prepare Generic and Critical Lifting Plans and attend the lifting activities in the sector of his responsibility.
• Support at Site level with a lifting expertise to all RSES/RSES-D, carry out lifting reviews and audits for each site and/or contractors on yearly basis.
• Performs checks and fitnessfor purpose on lifting appliances/accessories, CCUs and evaluate their utilization on site.
• Carry out site acceptance inspection on lifting appliances prior mobilization on job location.
• Conduct competency assessment on Rigger, Banksman & Operator on regular basis. • Seeks assistance from LS when authority or competency are not sufficient Support at Site level all lifting audits. Methods
• Application of Affiliate’s Lifting Management System documents, ensure that it is well understood and fit to the purpose.
• Responsible for application of the methodology, rules, and instructionsfor Lifting& Handling operations. Reporting
• Prepares Site daily & assist weekly monthly reports and any other ad-hoc reports when requested by the management. Lifting & Handling Expertise
• Focal point Site level for all Lifting & Handling related activities; reviews and advises RSES&RSES-D on non-conformities or any improvements required.
• Provides operational expertise in the field of Lifting & Handling activities in the responsibility. • Assesses and provides a clear picture to LS of the situation at operational sites in terms of: personnel competence, training, document review (procedures, certificates, maintenance records, training documentation, etc.), cranes, forklifts, loose lifting gear, man riding cranes, rigging lofts, winch equipment etc.
• Ensure communication of the routine lifting activities and campaigns at remote Sites.
• Ensure application of common practices/tools and encourage its implementation at remote Sites. Personnel
• Support development and assessment of Lifting & Handling team knowledge in the domain of common lifting, heavy Lifting & Handling operations within the context of the remote Sites.
Education and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Lifting & Handling O&G related activities (ashore and onshore) with engineering degree with industry related qualifications such as LEEA, EAL, OPITO, CPA, NORSOK and good communication skills.
• Experience in lifting operations ideally in different fields of application (supervision, calculation, inspection, etc.) with a broad and extensive knowledge in operations / equipment applying international standards such as BS, ISO, API, LOLER, NORSOK.
• Experienced in Oil and Gas Industry having worked in onshore and offshore operations in various duties, such as: Foreman; Rigging Supervisor; Lifting Supervisor; Lifting Superintendent; Site Lifting Specialist; training and coaching as a plus.
• Experience in Lifting equipment: inspector for General Lifting Equipment, all types of Cranes (onshore & offshore), containers & CCU’s, forklift trucks and stackers,winches and powered hoists, overhead travelling cranes, runway beams and swing jibs, wire rope inspector.
• Knowledge of the company’s processes and organization as a plus.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
• knowledge of French as a plus
