JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
TEAM LEAD, REPORTING & BALANCE SHEET MANAGEMENT FINANCE
CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
This is a key leadership position that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will be responsible for managing the bank's balance sheet, ensuring financial health, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance. You will work directly with the CFO, EXCO and partner with senior leaders across the bank to drive strategic initiatives, optimize our financial position, and ensure we meet our growth and performance targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Financial Management: Develop and implement strategies for an optimal balance sheet, capital preservation, and efficient tax planning.
- Financial reporting: Prepare, present and interpret financial reports to Management.
- Provide objective, data-driven insights into bank performance, identifying risks and opportunities to inform business decisions.
- Regulatory & Statutory Reporting: Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all regulatory reports to Bank of Uganda (BOU), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), NSSF, and other authorities.
- Tax Compliance: Manage and ensure compliance with all tax laws, including transfer pricing, withholding taxes, and product-specific tax evaluations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Finance, Risk, and Treasury teams to drive efficiencies and champion a culture of strong financial control.
Candidate Profile
Education & Professional Qualifications:
o A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related field).
o CPA qualification.
Experience:
o A minimum of 5 years of banking experience, with at least 3-4 years in a core Finance Department.
o Must be a qualified accountant.
Skills & Competencies:
o Deep knowledge of banking operations, credit products, and industry regulations. o Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.
o Proven ability to inspire change, manage resources, and solve complex problems. o Strong communication and leadership skills.
