Team Leader Packaging at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa
Job Description |
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda / CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit aTeam Leader-Packaging at the Namanve Plant in Kampala.
Team Leader-Packaging, you will report directly to theUnit Manager, Packaging.
Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of the Team Leader packaging is to lead in the execution of the production plan, ensuring that the product meets all quality specifications, asset care through autonomous maintenance tasks and the resolution of production problems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities |
- Optimize and manage the packaging value chain, performance and processes. Interpret and implement production plans for shifts and monitor packaging processes.
- Optimize and enhance team performance: Set and cascade targets within the team, coach team members on proper task execution, and monitor process inputs and outputs to achieve desired results.
- Facilitate effective Communication of team goals regularly review them for alignment, and relay production schedules, shift performance, and other relevant business information to team members.
- Oversee Shift Performance and Administration: Review and sign off on shift performance (QCDSM - Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale/People) and ensure all necessary administrative tasks supporting the production team are completed.
- Drive adherence to the operational, quality, process standards, work instructions, repair and maintenance schedules, work practice as well as manage immediate material availability needs.
- Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Adhere to safety, health, and environmental legislation and procedures. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices and housekeeping standards and report any unsafe conditions within the packaging area to EOSH (Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health) in alignment with Risk Assessments.
- Facilitate continuous improvement, team problem solving and decision making. Apply problem solving techniques and principles, including situational problem-solving, QFR (Quick Fix Routine) application, 5 Whys, loop closure, and escalation procedures.
- Manage and Develop Human Resources: Conduct training needs analyses and ensure their completion through one-on-one sessions, individual development plans, and performance reviews. Manage human resource availability, leave, and deployment.
- Lead Business System Implementation and Compliance with Business Systems, including SC Ways (Supply Chain Ways), internal Quality and Food Safety systems, and Coca-Cola requirements. Drive the maturity of these systems through supply chain work practices.
- Adhere to the food safety (FSSC) requirements and Quality standards at all levels (local, international and CCBU policy). Report any works or anyone that compromises quality and food safety on site.

Skills, Experience & Education |
QUALIFICATIONS.
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical)OR any other related field.
EXPERIENCE.
- Minimum requirement: 3 years of technical and leadership experience in an FMCG environment. Prior Microsoft Systems Dynamics Experience is preferred.
COMPETENCIES.
- Understanding of the Manufacturing Way / WCM / Lean practices and principles
- A self-starter with high energy levels.
- Proven Leadership skills and management capability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - clear capability and credibility to influence at the shop floor level.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality is non-negotiable.
