Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled VM Residential Construction Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. In this role, you will oversee and manage residential construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality standards, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for residential construction projects
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and maintain quality control
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
- Implement and maintain efficient construction management systems and processes
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovative construction techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction management, preferably in Uganda or East Africa
- Proficiency in project management techniques and tools
- Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and cost estimation
- Familiarity with Ugandan building regulations and standards
- Expertise in residential construction methods and materials
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are preferred
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
