Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled VM Residential Construction Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. In this role, you will oversee and manage residential construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality standards, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for residential construction projects
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and maintain quality control
• Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
• Implement and maintain efficient construction management systems and processes
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovative construction techniques

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction management, preferably in Uganda or East Africa
• Proficiency in project management techniques and tools
• Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and cost estimation
• Familiarity with Ugandan building regulations and standards
• Expertise in residential construction methods and materials
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are preferred
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
