Background

Field of Hope is seeking a motivated and qualified professional to support agricultural education programs, teacher development initiatives, and student learning opportunities throughout Uganda.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct school visits and provide technical support, mentorship, and supervision to partner teachers across Uganda.
  • Support in recruitment, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of Inspiring Students in Agriculture Grant (ISAG).
  • Assist in the establishment, strengthening, and monitoring of Agriculture Clubs in partner secondary schools.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment activities within the Youth Agricultural Education and Rural Community Farmer Development pillars.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of Teacher Curriculum Guides and annual teacher training programs.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic and annual work plans for the Youth Agricultural Education Pillar under the guidance of the Pillar Head.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, training sessions, learning events, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support proposal development, donor reporting, and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including safeguarding, child protection, and other applicable procedures during program implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education. A Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching agriculture at the secondary school level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing Uganda’s Competency-Based Lower Secondary Curriculum.
  • Prior participation in Field of Hope Teacher Training programs is an added advantage.
  • Experience in teacher education, teacher training, or professional development programs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in project-based learning methodologies.
