JOB DETAILS:

Background

Makerere University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for various academic, administrative, and support staff positions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Teach, examine and grade students;

2. Supervise research for students;

3. Mentor junior staff;

4. Conduct research and community outreach activities;

5. Write proposals for attracting funding to the department;

6. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department

Required Qualifications

Master of Medicine (MMed) in Anaesthesia or an equivalent Postgraduate specialist qualification from a recognized institution;

At least an upper second Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or its equivalent from a recognized University.

Be registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC) and possess a valid Annual Practicing License (APL).

Tenure of Appointment

4-year contract

2. APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT LECTURER SHOULD HAVE A CGPA OF 4.0 AND ABOVE EXCEPT FOR APPLICANTS IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF PSYCHIATRY WHO SHOULD HAVE A CGPA OF 3.60 AND ABOVE.

3. APPLICANTS FOR ALL OTHER POSITIONS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 55 YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
