We're seeking an experienced Brooding Technician / Brooding Farm Management to oversee our poultry Brooding operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Brooding management,and techniques and will be offered an opportunity to go for a further training for about two month in our main entities located in Tanzania to enhance more knowledge in management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Brooding Technical Management

  • Adjust and maintain temperature, humidity, ventilation, and lighting according to brooding standards.
  • Inspect day-old chicks, oversee placement, initial feeding, and early-stage health management.
  • Monitor performance parameters such as uniformity, body weight, and mortality.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify abnormal behaviors or health issues.
  • Implement vaccination programs, deworming plans, and health protocols.
  • Ensure feed quality, water supply, and environmental hygiene meet biosecurity requirements.

2. Production and Operations Management

  • Execute brooding production plans to meet quantity, cycle, and performance targets.
  • Supervise staff operations, including feeding, cleaning, disinfection, and equipment handling.
  • Manage brooding equipment such as heaters, ventilation systems, and drinker lines.
  • Maintain production records, health logs, medication records, and incident reports.
  • Control production costs including feed usage, consumables, and utilities.

3. Staff Management and Training

  • Train brooding workers on standard operating procedures.
  • Enforce biosecurity rules and ensure compliance across personnel and facility.
  • Support performance evaluation, scheduling, and related personnel management tasks.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Health, Poultry Science, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in chick brooding operations or poultry farm management.
  • Solid understanding of brooding parameters, vaccination procedures, and flock management.
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to respond to technical issues.
  • High sense of responsibility and ability to work in a farm environment.
  • Competence in team supervision and staff training (if management duties apply).
