Background
African Evangelical Enterprise-Uganda (AEE-U) is seeking to recruit a confessing Christian, passionate, experienced, and dedicated professional to join the NVI dynamic team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the coordination and smooth operations of the NVI. The incumbent will provide leadership for vocational education to thrive; NVI to attain growth; develop systems and an enabling environment for human resource development. He/She will ensure financial stability and investment of the institution while establishing and maintaining NVI strategic partnerships.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the institute leading to institutional growth by directing the planning, coordination, implementation, administration of the curriculum, educational management and student wellbeing functions.
- Develop systems, standards and guidelines which enhance quality of students' performance in both internal and external assessments.
- Optimize the human resources to achieve deliverables.
- Ensure efficient and effective governance and operations function of the Governing Council, Board, Board committees and management.
- Conduct effective supervision of the institute's department tutors, trainers, technical resource persons and other administrative and management members of staff to ensure high level of commitment and delivery.
- Oversee the general environmental maintenance and renovations of NVI.
- Ensure all statutory obligations of the institute are compliant to the existing laws in the country these shall include among others PAYE, NSSF.
- Promote NVI institution visibility, positive image and relations with stakeholders at local and international spaces.
- Promote approaches and models of skilling youth, women and children to ensure that NVI is on top of the vocational agenda; for example, Community Based Training models.
- Ensure all NVI resources are well documented, and all organization revenues and debts are timely collected and paid respectively, and financial resources are timely accounted for.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate, complete and compliant financial reports to respective donors, Council, management and board.
- Represent the interest of the institution and AEE and establish strategic relations and alliances with partners and local organizations network.
- Undertake local and regional fund raising and ensure optimum and timely utilization of resources such that NVI is self-sustaining.
Required Qualifications:
- A professing committed Christian with a personal relation with the savior. Demonstrated Christian character and values in both professional and personal life.
- A bachelor's degree in Technical Teacher Education (BTTE) in any technical or academic course or any other bachelor's degree in education with a postgraduate qualification in TVET from a recognized institution as an added advantage.
- A valid registration certificate from the Ministry of Education is a requirement.
- A minimum of at least five (5) years of working experience in Technical or Vocational Training Institution(s) three (3) of which should be at a Senior Management level.
- Evidence of knowledge in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector and its management is desirable.
- Evidence of Academic Governance, Educational Institutional Effectiveness, Higher Education Institute Policies, standards, procedures and practices is desirable.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English Language is a requirement.
- Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft office and other applications.
- Proven integrity with excellent management especially in the areas of finance and human resources.
