Background

Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:

Job Summary

Operate single-boom/twin-boom underground drill jumbos to complete development blast-hole drilling.

Key Duties

Position the jumbo; collar and drill holes per the blast pattern; change rods and bits; adjust drilling parameters according to rock conditions; troubleshoot common faults, perform daily equipment inspection and maintenance, ensure drilling accuracy.

Requirements

2+ years of underground drill jumbo operation; experience with single/twin-boom development and long-hole jumbos; able to read blast patterns; physically fit and able to work underground.
