About Girls for Climate Action (G4CA)

Girls for Climate Action (G4CA) is a young-women-led organization dedicated to centering the realities of women and girls to advocate for climate justice and build climate-resilient livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, green entrepreneurship, leadership, and community-driven climate solutions. We work alongside smallholder farmers, women's groups, and young entrepreneurs to turn climate adaptation into practical, income-generating opportunities at the household and community level.

About the Role

G4CA is seeking a creative, dynamic, and results-oriented graduate trainee to join the communications team e organization's communication and visibility efforts. The successful candidate will contribute and implement communication strategies that strengthen the organization's brand, increase stakeholder engagement, and effectively communicate the impact of our programs to donors, partners, beneficiaries, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the organization's communication and visibility strategy.
  • Create high-quality content for the website, newsletters, social media platforms, press releases, reports, and promotional materials.
  • Manage the organization's social media accounts and website, ensuring regular updates and audience engagement.
  • Produce compelling stories, blogs, photographs, videos, and other multimedia content highlighting project achievements.
  • Coordinate media relations and maintain relationships with journalists and media houses.
  • Support documentation of project activities and prepare communication materials for donor reports.
  • Design communication and branding materials, including brochures, flyers, banners, infographics, and presentations.
  • Ensure consistent application of the organization's branding guidelines across all communication products.
  • Support planning and publicity for organizational events, campaigns, workshops, and conferences.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare periodic communication and visibility reports.
  • Perform any other communication-related duties reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and websites.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in photography, videography, and video editing is an added advantage.
  • Flexible and quick to learn.
