Background

A home chef who prepares daily meals for the family within a private residence, plans menus, manages grocery inventory, and cooking according to dietary requirements. Responsibilities include maintaining a hygienic kitchen, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and accommodating household preferences to ensure convenient dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meal Planning: Design weekly menus tailored to employer tastes, nutritional goals, and dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, keto).
  • Food Preparation: Wash, chop, season, and cook ingredients using various techniques (baking, grilling, roasting, boiling).
  • Ingredient Sourcing & Inventory: Create grocery lists, purchase supplies, and monitor pantry and refrigerator stock levels to prevent waste.
  • Kitchen Sanitation: Keep the cooking space spotless, sanitize countertops, clean utensils/appliances, and follow strict food safety guidelines.
  • Plating and Service: Present meals attractively and organize dining setups for daily consumption or hosting.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven Experience: Background working as a domestic cook, personal chef, or professional culinary experience.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Understanding of diverse cuisines, flavor profiles, and recipe adaptation.
  • Time Management: Ability to multitask, coordinate meal timings, and operate independently.
  • Health & Safety: Valid food handler's certification (or equivalent) and strong adherence to safe food temperature and storage rules.
  • Documentation: LC1 letter of identification, national ID and a medical report.

Working Environment

  • Location: Operates entirely within a private home or residential property.
  • Physical Demands: Requires prolonged periods of standing, lifting heavy groceries, and frequent moving between kitchen stations.
