Responsibilities or duties

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach, examine and grade students;
• Supervise research for students;
• Mentor junior staff;
• Conduct research and community outreach activities;
• Write proposals for attracting funding to the department;
• Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Geography, Environmental Geography, Meteorology, Climate Science/Atmospheric Science, Environmental Sciences and/or Management;
• A Master’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Geography, Meteorology, Climate Sciences, GIS Science and Earth Observation; Environmental Sciences and/or Management;
• A Minimum of an Upper Second Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or a Postgraduate Diploma in Meteorology;
• Strong methodological competencies in Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis, Geo-Statistics, Applied Statistics and Biometry, Climate Modeling, Spatial Analytical Tools, Programming, Systems Thinking and Modeling, is an added advantage.

• APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT LECTURER SHOULD HAVE A CGPA OF 4.0 AND ABOVE EXCEPT FOR APPLICANTS IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF PSYCHIATRY WHO SHOULD HAVE A COPA OF 3.60 AND ABOVE
• APPLICANTS FOR ALL OTHER POSITIONS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 55 YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
