On behalf of our GROBRAND LTD, we are looking for a skilled and competent Marketing Manager to work in Kampala.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead and develop 20-person teams (sales, promotional staff, merchandisers).
- Set goals/KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Recruit, onboard, and train team members.
- Manage rosters, territory allocation, and daily resourcing.
- Handle performance and conduct issues, escalating to HR as needed.
CRM & AI System Migration
- Lead the move from manual sales tracking to an AI-enabled CRM.
- Define requirements and timelines with IT and vendors.
- Train the team and drive adoption of the new system.
- Use CRM/AI data to improve reporting and decision-making.
Sales, Promotions & Merchandising Oversight
- Oversee in-store promotions, product visibility, and merchandising standards.
- Set and track sales targets; act on performance gaps.
- Review promotional plans and execution schedules.
- Manage key retail relationships and resolve execution issues.
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Develop and run annual and campaign marketing plans.
- Manage digital, content, and social media activity.
- Use market research and analytics to guide strategy.
- Track campaign performance and report results.
Budget & Financial Management
- Manage the marketing budget and track ROI on spend.
- Report on budget and performance to senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Represent marketing in leadership meetings.
- Report regularly on team, CRM, and campaign performance.
- Stay current on marketing and industry trends.
Experience & Qualifications
Academic qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Professional marketing qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably including management or leadership responsibilities.
- Experience managing and developing sales, promotional and merchandising teams with a strong focus on product visibility, in store execution, performance measurement and achievement of sales targets.
- Proven experience implementing or supporting CRM/ERP systems with the ability to train users, drive adoption and troubleshoot operational issues and use technology to improve sales reporting and team performance.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and measuring return on investment (ROI).
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of in-store promotions, digital marketing, content marketing, and social media.
- Familiarity with marketing analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics and CRM platforms.
- Ability to interpret market research, customer data, and campaign performance.
- Competence with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and relevant marketing software.
