Medical Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Adjumani Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics and be committed to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered medical care. Fresh graduates with a strong interest in these areas are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient consultations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across different age groups.
  • Manage common medical conditions with particular attention to internal medicine and paediatric cases.
  • Take accurate medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
  • Request and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
  • Develop appropriate treatment and management plans for patients.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Identify and appropriately manage or refer emergency and complex cases.
  • Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records.
  • Work closely with nurses, specialists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and other healthcare activities.
  • Adhere to professional, ethical, infection prevention, and patient-safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practising licence with the relevant professional council in Uganda.
  • Fresh graduates with a strong interest or bias in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics are encouraged to apply.
  • Good clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Willingness to work in Adjumani Town.

Remuneration: Negotiable
