Background

Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:

Job Summary

Responsible for training local raise borer operators.

Key Duties

• Prepare raise borer training syllabi and practical programs;
• train in equipment installation, plot hole orientation and reaming;
• teach emergency response methods;
• assess trainee skills;
• develop operating procedures.

Requirements

• Technical secondary school or above;
• 5+ years of raise borer operation;
• curriculum development and teaching ability;
• familiar with shaft engineering and underground safety regulations.
