On behalf of our client TOTAL ENERGIES, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Waste Area Management Foreman – OPS to work at site
Reports to: Field Operations Logistics Superintendent
Location: site
Position Gap: 2
Activities
The main responsibility of the position holder’s:
HSE
- Ensure full compliance with Company, Affiliate and Site HSE Management Systems of all routine and non-routine activities under his perimeter, whether they are conducted by Core personnel, by Contracted staff or by Contractors.
- Ensure all actions are implemented to meet Affiliate and site HSE Objectives (LTIF, TRIR, Observation reporting, Life Saving Checks, Joint Safety Tours, …)
- Contribute to the implementation and adherence to an Environmental Management System as per ISO 14001 requirement.
- Ensure accurate reporting of all HSE KPI, including HSE events through Company reporting tool (Synergi).
- Ensure best HSE practices are enforced for the contracts under his responsibility.
- Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety tours, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
- Conduct inspections of waste handling areas to prevent soil and water contamination.
- Monitor Waste Management yard and primary collection points, ensuring a clean, organized, hazard-free environment.
- Enforce safety protocols for hazardous material handling and emergency response.
- Support audits and incident investigations related to waste operations.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste classification and disposal regulations.
- Act at Delegated Operating Authority rep on the relevant LOG areas (Waste Management yard)
Waste Management Yard Operations
- Develop the structure and write all Waste Management Operations procedures required for operation at site.
- Implement Waste Management LOG organization and relevant management system. Define, design and register all primary waste collection points. Define frequency of waste collection from the primary collection points for transfer to Waste Management yard.
- Focal point for Waste handling logistics contracts.
- Manage the preparation for operation of the Waste Management area, and any other location under responsibility. Contribute to the preparation of transition phase for relocation of selected existing waste treatment plants to the new OPS Waste management yard.
- Follow Waste Management storage area end of construction.
- Develop, implement and Manage KPI related to contract and activities withing the Waste Management site and the related activities.
- Organize waste collection.
- Ensure proper use of impermeable pits, containment systems, and designated storage areas for waste types such as wastewater, cement washouts, food compost, and industrial residues.
- Monitor waste manifests and direct incoming waste trucks to appropriate unloading zones.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of waste quantities and classifications (e.g., used oil, medical waste, contaminated soil, packaging materials).
- Ensure all waste streams are properly identified and documented according to applicable laws and internal procedures.
- Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure training and documentation meet regulatory standards.
Coordination
- Organize all Waste Management transfer for operations preparation in liaison with FOPS team.
- Ensure all Waste Management is properly documented before collected, shipped, stored and disposed off.
- Assign daily tasks to waste collection personnel and monitor performance.
- Train staff on waste classification, handling procedures, and use of PPE.
- Ensure team compliance with regulatory requirement and site-specific HSE standards.
Mandatory Qualifications/Experience required
Education: Diploma of Higher Education (Bachelor’s degree) Plus minimum 3 years of experience with initial formal education, diplomas as Technician or equivalent in environmental management, engineering, logistics (i.e. Petroleum, industrial, mechanical).
Professional experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience.
- Practical experience in waste handling on industrial operations, preferentially in the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste classification and disposal regulations.
- Familiarity with site-specific waste protocols.
- Experience in procedure development
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, PPE usage and emergency response procedures
