Description
Insight Management Uganda is hiring a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Reports to: Finance Manager / Chief Accountant / Director of Finance
Department: Finance & Accounting
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and journal entries.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- File statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, NSSF) on time and in compliance with local laws.
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments on financial matters.
- Advise on cost reduction, financial efficiencies, and risk management strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
