Application for an Independent Transmission Licence for the Development of the Proposed 132/11kV Lugazi, 132/33kV Akagefi, 132/33kV Kasana Substations and the associated 132kV Transmission Lines

In accordance with Section 29 of the Electricity Act, Cap.157, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has received a Notice of Intended Application for an Independent Transmission License from Crane Transmission Line Company to acquire a Permit to undertake feasibility studies and other activities leading to the development of the 132/11kV Lugazi Substation, 132/33kV Akagefi Substation, and 132/33kV Kasana Substation and their associated 132kV Transmission Lines in Buikwe District, Kiruhura District and Nakaseke District respectively.

The proposed transmission line will traverse through the following Angle Point (AP) coordinates in 36N UTM ARC 1960.

Interested persons are invited to inspect the Application/Notice from the addresses below:-

1. ERA House. Plot SC-1, 3rd Street – Luggø, Industrial Area, Kampala

2. ERA Western Region Office. Plot 7, Gulf Road, Mbarara City

3. The Offices of the Resident District Commissioner, LC V Chairperson and Chief Administrative Officer for the Districts of Buikwe, Kiruhura, and Nakaseke.

Pursuant to Section 30 of the Electricity Act, the Authority invites directly affected parties, public agencies, authorities, and individuals in the project-affected areas to submit written objections or comments regarding the project. Submissions can be made by post, hand delivery, email, or other recorded delivery methods to the Authority at the address provided below or via email: secretary@era.go.ug. All submissions must be received not later than 30 (Thirty) days from the date of publication of this Notice.
