Role Overview:

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment throughout the imaging center. This role is critical to infection prevention and control, ensuring patient and staff safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitation:

• Perform daily cleaning of all areas including consultation rooms, imaging suites, waiting areas, reception, and restrooms.
• Dispose of general and biomedical waste in accordance with established protocols.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces (door handles, counters, equipment surfaces) to prevent cross-contamination.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and clinical areas.

Infection Control:

• Follow infection prevention and control guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure cleaning agents and disinfectants are used correctly and stored safely.
• Assist in the laundering of linens and clinic attire as required.

Maintenance Support:

• Report any maintenance issues (leaks, damaged fixtures) to the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
• Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical cleaning environment is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of infection control principles is preferred.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties throughout the shift.
