JOB DETAILS:
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, expand market share, and increase customer base.
Market intelligence: Continuously monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to adapt marketing and sales plans accordingly.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers and distributors and agro-dealers.
Product Promotion: Create and execute marketing campaigns, including online and offline advertising, events, and promotions to promote seed varieties and educate customers.
Sales Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the sales team (territory sales officers), providing guidance, training, and support to achieve sales targets.
Distribution Network: Expand and manage the distribution network, including distributors, retailers, and dealers, to ensure widespread availability of our seeds.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to meet objectives.
Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Additional responsibilities: Any other duties that may be assigned by the General Manager.
Additional Responsibilities Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the enterprise’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the enterprise by implementing BRAC International’s Safeguarding Policy, in collaboration with BRAC International’s Gender and Safeguarding team.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Responsible for ensuring team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Sales KPIs
Revenue Growth: Increase in sales revenue over a set period of time.
Sales Target Achievement: Attainment of sales targets, both in terms of overall revenue and sales of specific seed varieties.
Customer Acquisition: Number of new customers gained during a specific period.
Customer Retention: Customer retention rates.
Distributor/Retailer Network Growth: Expansion of the distribution network, including the number of distributors, retailers, and dealers added.
Product Launch Success: Success of new product launches, including sales generated and customer feedback. Marketing KPIs:
Lead Generation: Number of leads generated through marketing efforts, such as website traffic, inquiries, and requests for information.
Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads that are converted into actual sales.
Brand Awareness: Brand recognition and awareness among the target audience assessed through surveys or other methods.
Digital Presence: Online presence and engagement metrics, such as website traffic, social media followers, and engagement rates.
Marketing ROI: Return on investment for marketing activities, including the cost per lead and the cost per acquisition.
Marketing Campaign Performance: Effectiveness of specific marketing campaigns, considering factors like click-through rates, conversion rates, and campaign-specific revenue.
Budget Adherence: Whether the marketing and sales department operates within budget.
Competitor Analysis: Track competitor activities, market share, and customer feedback to adapt strategies accordingly.
Market Trends Adaptation: Ability to adapt marketing strategies in response to changing market trends or customer preferences.
Person Specification
Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role, preferably in the agricultural or seed industry.
Education, Training, Skills & Experience In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan seed industry and agricultural market, including an understanding of local farming practices and customer needs.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and represent the company effectively.
 Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team, with a focus on achieving sales targets.
 Budgeting and financial management skills for the sales and marketing department.
 Proficiency in using marketing tools, including digital marketing, to reach a wide customer base
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Understanding of the agricultural sector in Uganda, including knowledge of crops, farming practices, and regional variations.
Familiarity with various seed varieties, their characteristics, and suitability for different Ugandan regions.
Knowledge of market trends in agriculture, seed sales, and distribution in Uganda.
Awareness of the key players in the seed industry in Uganda and their market strategies.
Understanding of agricultural and seed industry regulations in Uganda.
Knowledge of the needs and preferences of Ugandan farmers and agricultural businesses.
Proficiency in marketing strategies, including digital marketing, social media, and traditional advertising methods.
Financial acumen to effectively manage marketing budgets and allocate resources for maximum impact.
Ability to conduct market research to identify customer needs, monitor trends, and assess competitor activities.
Design and execute effective sales and marketing strategies and campaigns to promote seed varieties, educate customers, and achieve revenue targets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey the value of seed products, as well as maintain and build strong customer relationships.
Proficiency in data analysis to measure marketing and sales performance.
Skill in utilising digital marketing tools and platforms to reach a wide customer base.
Effective leadership and team management skills to guide and motivate the sales team to achieve targets
Agility to adapt marketing and sales plans based on unexpected and changing market conditions and challenges, and customer preferences
Education
Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
Marketing, Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
