Description
Markh Investments is hiring a Human Resource Manager to lead our HR function and support the organization in attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining a high-performing workforce.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for:
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Identify staffing gaps with Heads of Department.
- Develop and implement annual recruitment plans.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage staff induction, orientation and probation tracking.
HR Policy & Compliance
- Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and systems.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across all departments.
- Guide management and employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and company requirements.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Manage employment contracts and renewals.
- Maintain an effective HR information system.
- Monitor employee leave and HR reports.
- Prepare HR reports and management briefs.
Performance Management
- Coordinate the complete performance management cycle.
- Support managers and supervisors in setting and reviewing performance objectives.
- Coordinate appraisals and performance reviews.
- Provide performance reports and advise management on performance-related actions.
Learning & Development
- Develop and implement annual training and development plans.
- Identify employee training needs.
- Coordinate staff training and development programmes.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and learning transfer.
- Support organisational change initiatives.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Promote positive employee relations and staff engagement.
- Manage employee grievances and disciplinary processes.
- Advise management on employee relations matters.
- Implement employee welfare and wellbeing initiatives.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees.
Payroll Administration
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with Heads of Department.
- Prepare and submit payroll for Finance review and processing.
- Maintain accurate payroll records.
- Follow up on NSSF remittances.
- Resolve employee payroll-related queries.
Employee Separation
- Coordinate employee exits, transfers and job rotations.
- Ensure proper separation procedures are followed.
- Ensure separation processes comply with applicable labour laws and company policies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Academic & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration or another relevant field, with over 10 years’ relevant HR management experience. Masters Degree is an added advantage.
- Demonstrable experience managing a broad HR function in a structured organisation.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, payroll administration and HR compliance.

- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage employee relations and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Strong policy development and implementation skills.
- Good understanding of performance management.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management and Heads of Department.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
- Approachable, patient and able to handle sensitive employee matters with maturity.
