The Accounts Assistant – Reconciliation will be responsible in supporting the finance department by accurately performing daily and periodic bank and account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, maintaining proper financial records, and ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Performing bank reconciliations accurately and with minimum supervision.
  • Identify, analyze, interpret, and resolve unreconciled items and discrepancies.
  • Ensure correct posting of transactions in line with the double-entry accounting concept.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of reconciliation records.
  • Use Microsoft Excel effectively for reconciliation schedules and reporting.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
  • Investigate outstanding transactions and follow up with relevant departments or banks.
  • Ensure accurate posting of transactions in the accounting system in line with the double-entry accounting concept.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and submit them within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of all reconciliation records.
  • Assist with general accounting duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Support other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in an accounting environment is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of bank reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of double-entry accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
