Job Purpose   

Assist the Human Resource Officer in performing HR functions.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities            

1    Assist in implementing, maintaining and updating programmes, procedures and strategies for the College in line with HR policies;

2.    Assist in implementing annual work plans for the College in line with HR targets;

3.    Assist in providing technical support and implementing decisions of the College subcommittees in line with HR policy;

4.    Assist in implementing College development and change management programmes in line with HR policy;

5.    Assist in implementing and identifying gaps in the HR manual and recommend inputs for updating it in line with HR policy;

6.    Assist in capturing, processing, maintaining and updating College records on HURIS in line with HR policy;

7.    Assist in compiling and keeping records of payroll, benefits, and allowances of College staff in line with HR policy;

8.    Coordinate with the Centre in the implementation of HR policies;

9.    Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 Required Qualifications         

                     i.        An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or Arts, or Commerce, or Business Administration or Public Administration, or Social Work and Social Administration, or Psychology (with modules in Human Resource Management field such as Human Resource Development or Human Resource Management) or an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Organizational Development Studies from a recognized University/Institution;

                    ii.        Membership with an HR Professional Body is an added advantage.

 Skills/Competences  

1.    Ability to interact with high level management;

2.  Leadership and supervisory skills;

3.    Interpersonal and communication skills;

4.    Knowledge of labour laws and other related acts;

5.    Ability to build, lead and work with teams;

6.    Computer literacy.
