CONSULTING SERVICES FOR DESIGN, PREPARATION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF KATOSI DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND KAMPALA WATER SUPPLY NETWORK

The Government of Uganda has applied for loan financing from the Agence Française de Développement ("AFD"), and intends to use part of the funds thereof for payments of Consultancy Services to undertake "Design, Preparation of Tender Documents and Construction Supervision of Katosi and Gaba Drinking Water Treatment Plants, and Kampala Water Supply Network."

The Project is part of the broader Kampala Water Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Project and will cover the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area - GKMA (i.e. Kampala City, Wakiso and Mukono Districts). The overall objective of the project is to improve Water Supply reliability in the GKMA.

The scope of works is envisaged to include the following:
• Construction of a new water treatment line of capacity 80,000 m3/day at the existing Katosi drinking water treatment plant
• Supplying, laying and testing of primary distribution pipelines that were excluded from the scope of works for the Kampala Supply Network project works (Package 2b)
• Supplying, laying and testing of a new treated water pumping main from Gaba I, primary reservoir and distribution system to distribute 25,000m3/day to the Entebbe Road corridor between Gaba and Kajjansi

1. Invitation
   The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) hereby invites eligible consulting firms ("Consultants") to express their interest in delivering the services described above. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services.

This Request for Expressions of Interest is only open to all eligible consulting firms. Eligibility criteria to AFD financing are specified in sub-clause 1.3 of the "Procurement Guidelines for AFD-Financed Contracts in Foreign Countries", available online on AFD's website: http://www.afd.fr.
