Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating the Identification and development of academic plans, Priorities and programs for the Institute.
- Overseeing the Quality Assurance function of the Institute’s Academic services.
- Establishing and maintaining an updated data bank for the Institute’s Academic Programmes and Projects.

- Facilitating the Implementation of Governance and Governing Council Policies, Plans Procedures and other resolutions aimed at improving the academic performance of the Institute.
- Supervising and evaluating the performance of the staff under his department.
- Coordinating the Implementation of the institute’s students’ and academic staff programs with collaborating Academic and Training Institutions.
- Coordinating academic planning and review, Preparation and submission of curricular to relevant authorities and users.
- Providing Leadership and coordinating programmes and activities aimed at the professional growth and development of the academic staff of the Institute in liaison with the relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Evaluating quality and cost effectiveness of academic of academic programmes.
- Any other duties as assigned by the relevant authority.
Qualifications and Work Experience
- A Master’s degree in Either; Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geoscience, Refining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Sciences Or Physical Sciences obtained from a recognized Institution.
- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) In Either Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geoscience, Refining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Physical Sciences obtained from a recognized University/Institution.
- A post graduate qualification in Management or Law is an added advantage.
- At least nine (9) years relevant working experience, three of which should have been middle level management in a recognized Institution/organization.
Required Competencies
- Adequate knowledge of public financial and procurement systems, procedures and regulations
- Strategic thinking, knowledge generation and management
- Demonstrated ability in Leadership: Planning, Organizing and coordinating, Accountability, Oral Communication, Customer Care and Public relations, Presentation and Report writing
- Team leader, Innovation and self-initiative, Time Management
- Ability to mentor, Coach and develop subordinates.
- Incumbent should be of high morals and integrity.
