Job Purpose:

To oversee the entire accounting function of Masaka Farms, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, managing cash flow, and implementing robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and monitor cash flow management strategies.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage the external audit process and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance (VAT, Corporate Tax, etc.).
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA is an added advantage.
  • Fully qualified professional accountant (CPA-K, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax legislation.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
