PROJECT SUMMARY:
The LPHS North and Southwest Activity, implemented by the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC), seeks to strengthen district-based, integrated, and high-quality HIV/AIDS and TB services across nine districts in the Acholi subregion. The overall goal is to enhance the availability, accessibility, and utilization of comprehensive HIV and TB services.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The HIV/TB Specialist – CQI will provide technical support for life saving HIV/TB activities for the Acholi Region to ensure integration of quality improvement in health care. He/She will strengthen and monitor the implementation of systems and strategies for managing quality improvement initiatives impacting core clinical processes and client access to critical lifesaving services.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Routinely review and analyze site audit tools to improve service quality at facilities.
- Work with the Locums TAs/Specialists to conduct SQAs to improve quality of services.
- Working with site teams use the audit tools to schedule visits and client appointments to ensure clients receive all services.
- Work collaboratively with WITs to review and analyze CQI journals to improve clinical processes and quality of care.
- Routinely review, analyze site routine client satisfaction data to guide focus areas to improve service quality.
- Coordinate, merge and synthesize data from RCAs and develop action plans.
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly site performance review meetings & provide technical guidance on change packages to improve lifesaving indicators.
- Contribute to the body of knowledge through collaboratively working with the Knowledge Management Advisor in documentation of lessons learnt, success stories, abstracts and best practices.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Bachelor of surgery, Nursing.
- A medical related Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- Experience in comprehensive HIV/AIDS/TB care and support services.
- At least seven (7) years working experience as medical personnel, with four (4) years program of experience managing QI initiatives, in a reputable Organization.
- Good knowledge of project planning management principles, donor guidelines, coupled with strong understanding of HIV interventions using quality improvement approaches.
- Competence to build the capacity of health workers in HIV/AIDS programming and quality improvement.
