Job Purpose:

The HR Officer will be responsible for executing HR functions across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance while ensuring smooth coordination between Ideon and its clients. The role will play a key part in supporting workforce stability, maintaining compliance, and fostering positive client relationships to enhance service delivery and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Human Resource Management

  • Coordinate the full employee life cycle from recruitment and onboarding to exit management.
  • Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and HR databases accurately and confidentially.
  • Support in policy implementation, compliance, and staff communication.
  • Handle employee relations, disciplinary, and grievance matters in line with company policy.
  • Monitor attendance, leave, and performance metrics for assigned departments.
  • Facilitate periodic performance reviews and support managers in implementing improvement plans.
  • Participate in developing and executing staff engagement and welfare programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements.

2. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes to meet both internal and client workforce needs.
  • Conduct interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
  • Prepare job offers and employment documentation for successful candidates.
  • Organize and facilitate staff induction and orientation sessions.

3. Training and Development

  • Identify training needs in collaboration with client and operations teams.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs to build staff capability.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and support continuous improvement of employee performance.

4. Client Management

  • Serve as the main HR liaison for assigned clients, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Understand client requirements, staffing needs, and KPIs to ensure service delivery aligns with expectations.
  • Provide clients with periodic HR and performance reports (attendance, attrition, productivity, etc.).
  • Handle escalations promptly and professionally, providing solutions to workforce-related issues.
  • Participate in client review meetings and provide HR insights and recommendations.
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation in coordination with client project leads.

5. HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Prepare and present HR metrics including headcount, turnover, attendance, and performance.
  • Generate monthly HR reports for both internal management and clients.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives based on HR data insights.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Higher Diploma in HR (CHRP certification is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ HR experience, preferably in a HR Consultancy
  • Proven experience in client or account management is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of Ugandan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems.
