Job Purpose:
The Senior Human Resource Officer is responsible for upholding the Human Resources manual and as well as ensure employee satisfaction in the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Give oversight to the recruitment and induction processes.
- Create a safe and healthy work environment
- Develop, review, update, and manage the Performance Management system
- Undertake regular salary surveys
- Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys
- Negotiate with staff on issues relating to pay and benefits
- Recommend and implement agreed staff motivation strategies
- Lead the development and implementation of HR and other related policies and procedures
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of, and evaluate internal and external staff training and development programs
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource statutory requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
- Manage the exit process for staff
- Prepare statistical summaries and reports for management on employee data as and when required.
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, commitment, focus, excellence, and impact.
- Manage and support employee relations cases and assist with investigations ensuring that all disciplinary matters are concluded. · Advise management on Uganda Labor law regulations and compliance matters. · Maintain employment contracts in line with allocated positions and maintain · Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, or any related field.
A minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience in a related field
Key Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and policies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with HR software and systems.
- High level of emotional intelligence
