Job Purpose
To support the development and execution of Stanbic business Incubator strategic growth and scale goals in line with the Standard bank brand expansion and customer acquisition functions. Take lead on spotting and identifying viable and strategically aligned opportunities for the incubator, including partnerships, tenders, and segment markets. Be the custodian of expanding the pipeline and transition of incubator customers becoming group customers.
Responsibilities
Business growth and expansion
- Take lead in identifying business growth and scale opportunities for the incubator and build a case for each such opportunity to be presented to the respective stake holders.
- Prepare winning pitch deck presentations, reports, and simulations for the Incubator to be presented to stake holders as and when required.
- Take lead in writing proposals, tenders and always maintain an updated data set of such documentation for turnaround submissions.
- Be acquainted with all products, services current, or future of the Stanbic business incubator and as such be in position to represent the Incubator short notice
- Conducting occasional mapping and market research to identify key stake holders, partners and opportunities leading to strategic business growth.
- Work closely with the chief executive and the Programmes manager to determine the most viable and cost-efficient route of pursuing agreed and approved new business opportunities.
- Innovate map out and propose avenues for Business continuity sustainability and revenue generation.
Stake holder Management
- Ensure that all stake holders are receiving the necessary attention and results as expected and work hand in hand with the program team to ensure this is achieved.
- Be the liaison support for the SMEs undertaking training at the business incubator to ensure they are being served as expected.
- Prepare, schedule, and participate and in meeting with potential investors, partners, and customers to present company offerings
- Document and take record of clear actions in all stake holder engagements
- Provide administrative support to the CE and the programs manager
Risk and operational internal control support
- Ensure compliance with all processes and adherence to protocol while implementing assigned tasks.
- Be extremely vigilant in ensuring that all partners, clients, and stake holders are cleared by risk and compliance before they are engaged, onboarded, or contracted by the incubator.
- Identification of risks that may arise during work, action as per guidelines and or report them to the programme’s manager
- Development of appropriate co-ordination of control surveillance services from processes operational Risk and Compliance
Data Tracking, analysis, and management
- Be the custodian of Monitoring and Evaluation for the business Incubator. Assist all programme coordinators and officers in the development, visualization, and interpretation of their respective program metric data
- Take lead in collecting and Analysing data to provide reports containing sufficient level of detail to enable the Management team to make informed decisions.
- Support in coordinating organising and managing the database system of the Business incubator
- Identify and highlight problem trends for management decision making to the organisation while escalating complex matters to the appropriate areas for prompt decision-making and follow through to ensure that satisfactory resolution happens quickly.
- Be the chief custodian of documenting Impact stories of the Business incubator and supporting to inform any further needs of SMEs consequently proposing interventions for them.
Program, customer and learning support
- Identify capacity development gaps and skills required to enable stronger team growth especially in this ever-changing environment. Where possible organise such learning sessions from within or without to support team skills growth. Be the learning and development personnel for the Incubator staff and ensure future readiness.
- Gain a strong level of support and collaboration from the SUHL team members to ensure seamless support offered and accessed across the subsidiaries where any need arises. execution of priorities across all subsidiaries where need arises.
- Work closely with the programme manager to identify program design gaps and recommend changes to enable agility and continued relevance of the programs to the target customers.
- Specifically need to display courtesy, team-mindedness and diversity awareness considering the breadth of stakeholders necessary to influence and motivate in achieving the above tasks.
- Perform any other tasks that shall be assigned by the programme’s manager and the chief executive.
Person Specification
Education, Training, Skills & Experience
Education.
- Master’s degree in Business or a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, M&E, marketing, or related relevant field
- Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
Experience
- Strong analytical and intuitive skills with excellent needs analysis and diagnostic skills to interpret business and market requirements
- Result oriented, Planning and prioritizing of workload skills coupled with Strong business management and administrative support skills
- Proven track record in handling stressful situations in frontline customer-centered and stake holder environment governed by tight deadlines, high standards and significant work pressure.
- Interpersonal skills with ability to work independently under no supervision and as well a great team player.
- Problem solving skills exemplified through experience and can demonstrate a willingness to take on work and to take responsibility for and ownership of functional areas and any assigned projects/tasks
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, reporting, research, and people management skills
- Exceptional digital and computer skills knowledge with excellent command of all MS office Applications and collaboration tools
