The role holder is expected to support delivery of the overall Marketing Communication & Citizenship (MCC) objective to build a strong, reputable and trusted “brand” that positions NCBA Uganda as a leading digital first, innovative brand amongst our target markets through a combination of inspirational (and emotional) brand messaging and communication strategies that reinforce the brand values across assigned Business Units.
They will achieve this by supporting the planning, development and execution of all the brand plans and marketing initiatives within the MCC department.
The role holder is a brand champion, and is responsible for cascading and managing the brand guidelines as they are applied across the different marketing and communications engagements, to ensure a strong and consistent brand is delivered at all times.
The role holder is responsible for execution of all Business campaigns, as well as monitoring and reporting on campaign and product performance against the Business objectives. This position is directly accountable for supporting the end to end design, alignment, management and delivery of the following: -
•    NCBA Uganda Brand building activities
•    Communications activities
•    Digital Marketing activities
•    Citizenship agenda and shared value creation programs
•    Knowledge and Insights inputs to drive data focused design and execution of products, services as well as enhance customer value propositions
•    Sponsorship Programs
•    Marketing Events

The implementation of these activities should drive business growth, brand promise delivery, brand awareness, brand equity, fulfilment of NCBA social impact goals and market share, while strengthening stakeholder relationships.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

  •  Responsibility for budget planning and expense management objectives for assigned initiatives and ensure adherence to Finance / Procurement processes and systems.
    •    Ensure that ROI is measured, delivered and learnings captured to ensure continuous improvement 
    •    Responsibility for procurement administration and documentation of marketing activities
    •    Updating and maintaining of budget and invoice trackers
    •    Support 100% adherence to approved policies, procedures and statutory guidelines. This includes PAR Management, invoicing and billing processes. 
    •    Maintain a monthly competitor tracking system to remain abreast of the market trends and competitor offerings  
    •    Convening regular progress review meetings with advertising, media, PR, experiential and digital agencies, to ensure tracking of all ongoing projects, and manage work progress on an ongoing basis
    •    Working closely with the Marketing Manager, brilliantly execute the Annual Brand Plans and tactical initiatives, in a seamless manner
    •    Uphold the brand guidelines across all business units as well as monitor application of branding across all bank’s touch points,
    •    Zero audit findings and 100% adherence across all Risk Compliance Self-Assessment (RCSA) audit items
    •    Review internal and external communications to ensure accuracy and adherence to brand standards and communicate across the business
    •    Develop and disseminating internal communication materials to enhance staff engagement.
    •    Work collaboratively with MCC teams in planning, development and execution of all the bank’s Marketing, Communication and Citizenship activities. 
    •    Engage cross functionally, and work collaboratively with the business teams to bring the approved marketing programs, Customer Experience initiatives, acquisition and retention programs, etc.to life i.e. Events, Digital Marketing, Communications, PR support, etc.
    •    Work collaboratively with the creative and digital teams to develop multi-channel campaigns; building infographics, video and other multi-media content types.
    •    Coordinate brand visibility initiatives, including merchandising, sponsorships, and promotional activities.

Job Specifications

Academic:
•    University degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field.
•    Relevant professional qualification in Marketing would be an added advantage.
Desired Work Experience: 
•    At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience - managing a brand or product portfolio and supported by a sound track record.
•    An excellent planner and organizer with working proficiency in Project Management skills
•    Experience in the financial services sector is a plus but not mandatory.
Professional:
•    Proficiency in use of MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project etc.
•    Proven ability to develop brand plans and senior level engagement to effectively   communicate marketing objectives and recommendations 
•    Possesses strategic thinking potential, creativity, persuasiveness, results orientation, assertiveness and tenacity to sell ideas
•    Proven marketing and brand building background and good knowledge of consumer  insights.
•    Experience in dealing with 3rd party agencies – leading the client-agency relationship, Creative, Media, PR agencies etc.
•    Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices
•    Strong administration and organizational skills.
•    Excellent oral & written communication skills and interpersonal skills
•    Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Possesses high level of personal drive, creativity, initiative & follow-through, performance    driven and results oriented.
•    Strong analytical skills, data-driven thinking and problem solving.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
