Background
Advocate for Community Development and Environmental Protection (ACODEP) is recruiting for an upcoming multi-sectoral initiative focused on women’s participation in environmental peacebuilding, climate action, GBV/SGBV prevention, human rights protection, and environmental justice.
MEDICAL / PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER
2 Positions | 1-Year Renewable Contract
Job Summary
The Medical/Public Health Officer will support community health interventions, health promotion, disease prevention, referrals, and public-health awareness activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community health assessments and outreach activities.
- Conduct health education and awareness sessions.
- Promote disease prevention, hygiene, sanitation, and healthy lifestyles.
- Support community-based health programmes.
- Identify health risks and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Work with health facilities, local authorities, and community health structures.
- Support health screening and outreach activities where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of health activities.
- Support emergency preparedness and health-response activities.
- Promote inclusive access to health services for women, children, youth, and vulnerable groups.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation of health interventions.
Ideal Candidate
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Clinical Medicine, or a related field, as applicable to the position.
- Relevant professional registration/licensing where required.
- Experience in community or public-health programming is an advantage.
- Strong health education, communication, and community-mobilisation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in field settings.
