Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
  • Screen, consent, enrol, and follow study participants
  • Conduct study interviews and complete study source documents and case report forms
  • Perform basic obstetric ultrasound examinations to support determination of gestational age and pregnancy assessments, as required by the protocol
  • Provide counselling and education to study participants regarding study procedures and maternal health
  • Monitor participants throughout pregnancy and support follow-up during the postpartum period
  • Identify, collect, verify, and document maternal, pregnancy, birth, and neonatal outcomes from participants and medical records
  • Work closely with antenatal, maternity, labour ward, neonatal, and postnatal care teams to facilitate outcome ascertainment.
  • Collect biological specimens and ensure appropriate processing and transport according to study procedures
  • Participate in data collection, data entry, and maintenance of study records.
  • Support initiation, monitoring, and documentation of TB preventive therapy according to study procedures
  • Participate in study meetings and communicate with study investigators and other study staff
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
  • DIPLOMA : Diploma or BaDegree in Midwifery from a recognised institution. - Mandatory
Certifications:
  • Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Responsible Conduct of Research(RCR) or Human Subjects Protection (HSP). - Mandatory
  • Certificate in Sonography from a reputable institution. - Mandatory
  • Registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council - Mandatory
Skill & Experience:
  • Clinical trial experience - Added Advantage
  • Experience in HIV, TB, maternal health, or implementation science research - Added Advantage
  • Communication skills - Mandatory
  • Team work - Mandatory
  • Experience providing antenatal, maternity, or reproductive health services - Added Advantage
