WORK LOCATION: Kampala, Uganda
PROJECT DURATION: 24 MONTHS WITH EXPECTED FOLLOW-ON WORK WITHIN THE DoS PROGRAM
General
Candidates proposed for Project Controls positions shall possess a degree in Engineering (any discipline), Engineering Management, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering if hired under the engineering labor category and must have seven years of experience, in the commercial construction industry. Full gamut of construction project controls report drafting and production (MS Office Suite), cost management, schedule management (Primavera), change order management, submittal and request for information management, and commercial construction required. U.S. Embassy construction program experience highly desired. Overseas experience is required. Project Controls Engineer shall have recent experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Managing the operations of the OBO field office as related to the construction contract's cost and schedule, preparing reports and other control documentation
Managing and supervising data entry and documentation control specialists
Developing a working knowledge of all administrative requirements of the construction contract and required contract deliverables
Assuring satisfactory and timely performance of all aspects of project control, providing control of the contractor's submittals, requests for information, and as-built drawings
Reviewing contractor’s monthly application for payment and advise Project Director/COR of findings
Reviewing and evaluating requests for contract modifications as to their need and whether they are already a part of existing contract requirements
Performing quantity take-offs and assisting in preparation of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs)
Providing support to the Project Director/COR in all contract administration matters, negotiate modifications and/or claims, interpret contract requirements, e.g., payment provisions, general conditions, and Division I of the specifications
Participating in meetings and conferences as required
Preparing minutes of meetings attended
Maintaining the daily construction log
Coordinating and cooperating with the Project Director/COR and other members of the Project Director's staff
Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Project Director/COR
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree (or above) in engineering or construction management and a minimum of seven years of experience required on construction projects of similar scope and value to the project supported by this Task Order
Design office experience shall not count toward an employee’s experience
Overseas experience preferred
Knowledge of International Codes required
Desired Skills
NOX, SPX, UTIL, CACs, PKG, EOB renovations and perimeter wall and site work
Clearance Information
SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY
