Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostic testing and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty trucks, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, and electrical systems.
• Overhaul and rebuild major components such as gearboxes, differentials, clutch assemblies, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and services according to manufacturer schedules and company policies.
• Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic codes to troubleshoot and resolve complex faults efficiently.
• Lead and guide junior mechanics and apprentices, demonstrating proper repair techniques and safety practices.
• Test-drive vehicles to verify repair quality and roadworthiness after service.
• Maintain detailed work records, including parts used, labor hours, and job completion notes.
• Ensure all tools and workshop equipment are well-maintained and calibrated, reporting any defects or shortages.
