We are looking for an experienced Individual to take on the role of Social and Behavior Change
Communications Coordinator (SBCC). The position will provide responsibility to develop and
oversee the implementation of PACE Strategic Communication Strategy and interventions, drive
internal and external visibility of PACE in support of all PACE programmatic Health areas to ensure
quality marketing and communication. S/he will provide overall quality control on the
organization’s communications and advocacy, deliver high quality, proactive communications and
will use the latest models and innovations in project communications, to drive strategy and deliver
gains in product and service uptake by target audiences.

Roles and Responsibilities
Communications

• Develop and oversee PACE overall communications and advocacy strategy.
• Develop and manage proactive consistent channels of communication to document and profile PACE’s key interventions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Map, plan, execute and report on all PACE key events including project launches, Annual General Meeting etc. This shall include collaborating with partners, developing talking points and media coverage.
• Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including MoH, community-based organizations, national and international partners, and organisations, to strengthen PACE’s visibility across all health areas.
• Facilitate continuous coordination and tracking of PACE’s meaningful participation and representation in the various networks, coalitions, working groups and task forces, led by the MoH and partners.
• Represent PACE at national level through SBCC-related Technical Working Groups and in other relevant fora.
• Provide support for SBC message development for projects and IEC production for programming, with support mentorship to field teams in storytelling for development.
• Liaise with Project coordinators to understand programmatic needs and expectations to be accomplished through SBCC and develop appropriate strategies; and establish key messages which differentiate PACE areas of expertise.
• SBCC and marketing focal point in procurement, awarded contracts and coordinating the
• production and/or implementation of behaviour change communications including production of IEC materials, media buying and distribution and monitoring of PACE IEC materials.
• In liaison with the SIL department ensure the regular updating and maintenance of the PACE’s
• Website and internal SharePoint site and production of the Annual Report and document success stories for public dissemination.
• Take the lead in ensuring PACE is abreast and up to date with developments in SBCC theory and practice and that these are integrated as necessary.
• Provide support in the writing of donor reports and build a PACE Communications calendar to define timing for messaging throughout the year.
• Work alongside the EMT to develop relevant advocacy materials such as policy briefs, documentaries, fact sheets and papers to support PACE’s representation and influencing at events at national and subnational levels.
• Co-ordinate the concept testing and pre-testing of all communication materials that are developed.

Social Marketing

• Lead the establishment and growth of PACE Social Marketing strategy and coordinate the
• requisite departments at PACE to ensure that the purchasing of all inputs and production
• scheduling of Social Marketing products are aligned to meet the actual demand from the
• field in a timely manner.
• Guide the organization in sales forecasting for the various products and establish sales and
• distribution goals in line with the company’s strategic plan and direct the towards achieving
• them.
• Develops sales strategies and approaches for various products and services, such as special
• promotions, sponsored events, etc.
• Maintains relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer relations programs. Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing
• market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.

Member of PACE Senior Management Team (SMT)
• As a member of the Senior management team, the incumbent shall be responsible for:
• Providing strategic leadership including strategy and policy formulation and ensuring adherence.
• Developing staff capacity by creating a conducive work environment, practicing good people management, and advocating for staff welfare.
• Supervision of project implementation by ensuring compliance and achievement of results, SMT oversees the day-to-day operational activities at PACE.
• Resource Mobilization through development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies.
• Advocacy and establishing partnerships by acting as PACE ambassador and establishing
• collaborations and networks that foster PACE work.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in communication, Marketing, and any other related field
• Advanced degree. (Public Health or related field an advantage)
• Demonstrated success in generating innovative and effective behavior change or marketing solutions.
• Previous experience in the development and implementation of Social Behavioural Change Communication strategies and programs
• Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, external stakeholders, and partners.
• Ability to work across multiple project teams.
• Previous experience with a donor funded Non-governmental organization is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with various partners including donors, MoH, Local governments, CBO’s and NGO’s.
• High level of attention to details in all aspects of work responsibilities
• Commitment to deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, external stakeholders, and partners.
