Job Summary
The role supports branch operations by delivering efficient customer service, processing and checking customer transactions, managing cash and vault-related activities, resolving customer queries, and ensuring compliance with operational, risk, conduct and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, review and approve customer transactions in line with delegated authority, including cash and cheque deposits, withdrawals, inter-account transfers, currency exchange, cashier orders and other branch banking transactions.
- Handle Telegraphic Transfer, Electronic Funds Transfer, Real Time Gross Settlement, customer draft, cheque book, card, stop payment and static data instructions accurately and within required timelines.
- Manage cash within approved limits, balance cash against daily journals, support reconciliation of cash and general ledger accounts, and perform vault or float custodian duties where nominated.
- Provide professional, consistent and customer-focused service, ensuring customer queries and complaints are handled within agreed turnaround times.
- Support digital migration by encouraging customers to use online platforms and helping resolve service issues effectively.
- Identify opportunities to refer customers for relevant bank products and services, including deposits and unsecured lending.
- Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering, Customer Due Diligence, Know Your Customer, customer data protection, Speak Up, audit and conduct requirements.
- Escalate, mitigate and resolve operational, risk, conduct and compliance matters appropriately.
Skills and Experience
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to deliver efficient and professional branch banking support.
- Good understanding of transaction processing, customer service guidelines and banking products.
- Experience in cash handling, branch operations, customer instructions, reconciliations and complaint resolution.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, follow procedures, manage risk and maintain high standards of integrity.
- Comfortable working with internal stakeholders including branch operations, client service, sales, relationship management and technical support teams.
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant banking, branch operations or customer service experience.
- Good understanding of transaction process flows, customer service standards and bank products.
