Background

Conservation Through Public Health Limited is a 20-year-old Ugandan registered NGO and non-profit that promotes biodiversity conservation by enabling people, wildlife and livestock to coexist through improving health and livelihoods in and around protected areas in Africa. Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) envisions ecosystems where wildlife and people prosper in shared, dynamic, resilient, and healthy environments. CTPH has established itself as a leader in sustainable development through integrated human, animal and ecosystem health approaches. We work with the government, local community, civil society and the private sector, currently with field programs in 2 countries in Africa, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to implement three main program areas, which are integrated:

1. Wildlife Conservation, including wildlife health

2. Community Health with a focus on One Health

3. Alternative Livelihoods for protected area communities

Role Description

The Grant Writing and Fundraising Assistant will support the Grants and Fundraising team in identifying funding opportunities, developing funding proposals, maintaining donor relationships, and strengthening CTPH’s resource mobilization efforts. The role will provide technical, research, administrative, and coordination support across institutional fundraising and individual donor engagement.

Education and Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Project Planning and Management, International Relations, or a related field. Additional training or demonstrated interest in grant writing, fundraising, donor relations, proposal development, or nonprofit resource mobilization is an added advantage.

Experience

At least 1 year of relevant experience in grant writing, fundraising support, communications, research, or programme support (fresh graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered).

Skills

Strong research, writing, editing, and communication skills. Ability to synthesize information from technical documents into clear donor-focused content. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
